Billy Soco is an AAPI and Latinx actor, voice artist, and improv teacher based in NYC. He has trained and performed with renowned comedy institutions like the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre NY, Magnet Theater, Freestyle+, and ComedySportz NYC and has performed with critically acclaimed ensembles including Baby Wants Candy, Shamilton, North Coast and Story Pirates. With festival and international performances also under his belt, Billy shares his perspectives as a teacher at Second City NY, Magnet Theater, North Coast NYC, and various workshops throughout North America.

Billy grew up in Florida as a first-generation child of immigrants. In high school, he played the role of Mr. Welch in Damn Yankees and really enjoyed putting on “old man” makeup. He earned an English degree at the University of Florida, wrote and performed poetry at open mics, and began booking and promoting shows so he could rap his heart out in the name of self-expression.

He has previously earned a living stocking grocery shelves, showing apartments, and selling compact discs. He more recently manages and administrates the heck out of the healthcare field and leads applied improv workshops in corporate settings. Billy enjoys a healthy smoothie and similarly blends his passion for mental and holistic well-being with his commitment to the craft and art of performance. Delicious!

Billy has experience losing 100 pounds in body weight so give him time and he’ll find a way to bring it up. Standing 6’3” tall and being of Chilean & Filipino descent, the origin of his height remains a mystery to this day. He is however famously known to be both a goofy godfather and the coolest uncle.
